Larian has said it won’t add any major story content updates or DLC for Baldur’s Gate 3. But with these patches including the recent addition of official mod support, the developers have left the game in the best place for the community to continue the adventure without them. Patch 8 is scheduled to release next year.

One of the most popular subclasses among Warlocks is the Hexblade, which was initially left out of Baldur's Gate 3 but will be officially added with Patch 8 of the game. Along with the ability to create magical weapons, this option will also allow players to curse enemies, forcing souls to obey commands.

Patch 8 in Baldur’s Gate 3 introduces Photo Mode and Crossplay features to the game and 12 new subclasses to provide a new way to play. Alongside this, expect plenty of bug fixes in what could be Larian’s final “major patch” to the title.

It's been over one year since the launch of one of the best role-playing games (RPGs) of all time and still Larian is continuing to provide free updates featuring all-new content. Most recently, the studio gave us some details on Patch 8,

Patch 8, due out in 2025, adds crossplay, photo mode, and 12 new subclasses to the hugely successful role-playing game. In a blog post, Larian said Patch 8 is the game’s last major update, with the developer moving on to brand new games away from the Dungeons & Dragons universe.

Each class in Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 is receiving a new subclass, providing new ways to play the game. This monumental update comes despite Larian Studios winding down the development of BG3 as it pushes into new titles. We’ve detailed all the new subclasses in the table below.
