F1 star Lando Norris has revealed that he defied McLaren team orders during the Qatar Grand Prix sprint race. Having led the race from the start, Norris decided to gift the victory to his McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri on the line, risking allowing Mercedes' George Russell past too, with the Brit lurking behind.

McLaren neared its first Formula 1 constructors’ title in 26 years as Lando Norris handed Oscar Piastri victory in a one-two finish for the team in the sprint race at the Qatar Grand Prix. Norris started on pole position and kept the lead at the start as Piastri squeezed past the Mercedes of George Russell for second.
