Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Queen Latifah is set to host the 47th Kennedy Center Honors Dec. 22. The actress and singer was among the 2023 honorees. She is well known for her roles in Chicago, Bringing Down the House, The Last Holiday and Life Support. She also executive produces and stars in The Equalizer .

Queen Latifah, who was a 2023 Kennedy Center Honors recipient, is set to host the 2024 ceremony, which will be taped on Sunday, Dec. 8, and will air on CBS two weeks later on Dec. 22. It is Latifah’s first time as host.

The ceremony, which will air Dec. 22 on CBS, will honor Francis Ford Coppola, the Grateful Dead, Bonnie Raitt, Arturo Sandoval and The Apollo.

Queen Latifah was a 2023 Kennedy Center Honors recipient, and now the hip-hop icon is set to host the 2024 ceremony. The 47th Annual Kennedy Center Honors will be taped on Sunday, December 8, and will be broadcast on CBS on December 22 from 8:30-11:00
