South Africa leads Sri Lanka by 281 runs in the first cricket test in Durban after the end of a dramatic second day in which 19 wickets fell.

Day 3 of the first Test against Sri Lanka completely belonged to as they had the visitors with a virtually insurmountable challenge of getting to the 516-run target set. They were spotless with bat and ball as the Lankans were never able to cope with how clinical the hosts were in their on-field endeavours.

South Africa are nearing an imminent victory in the first Test after centuries from Tristan Stubbs and Temba Bavuma helped them post a colossal target. In response Sri Lanka are teetering at 103/5 on Day 3.

Tristan Stubbs and Temba Bavuma hit centuries to put South Africa in an impregnable position before their bowlers dismissed five Sri Lankan batsmen on the third day of the first Test at Kingsmead on Friday.
