One of two remaining co-defendants in Georgia's longest-running criminal trial was stabbed in jail, his lawyer said Monday morning, as jurors resumed deliberations in the sprawling racketeering case that had included rap superstar Young Thug.

Rapper Yak Gotti, one of Young Thug's co-defendants, is set to appear in court after being stabbed in jail Sunday, authorities confirmed.

Deamonte Kendrick, the rapper known as Yak Gotti, sustained injuries on Sunday, according to his attorney, Doug Weinstein. On Monday, jurors were set to resume deliberations in the case against Kendrick and co-defendant Shannon Stillwell, who face charges related to gang activity, murder, drug offenses and firearms violations.

Deamonte “Yak Gotti” Kendrick, one of the remaining co-defendants in the still ongoing YSL gang trial, was stabbed in Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, according to his lawyer, Douglas Weinstein.

Multiple sources confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that Deamonte Kendrick, who raps under the name Yak Gotti, was stabbed Sunday at the Fulton County Jail.

One of two men who was indicted along with rapper Young Thug and is awaiting a jury verdict was stabbed in jail but is expected to be in court Monday, his lawyer said.
