Mahindra has introduced the BE 6e and XEV 9e production coupe-SUVs in India. The EVs retain the sharp styling and high-tech features of the previewing concepts. Both models ride on the INGLO architecture with RWD and two battery options.

In terms of dimensions, the BE 6e measures 4,371 mm in length, 1,907 mm in width, and 1,627 mm in height. In contrast, the XEV 9e is 4,789 mm long, 1,907 mm wide, and 1,694 mm tall. While the XEV 9e is considerably longer and marginally taller than the BE 6e, they have an identical width and wheelbase, which stands at 2,775 mm.

Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e electric SUVs have been launched as two major EVs in the country in 2024. Both these two electric cars are underpinned by the carmaker's INGLO modular architecture.

As seen in the table above, the XEV 9e is significantly longer, marginally wider and sits on a slightly larger wheelbase. The XUV700 stands taller due to its more conventional SUV stance, while the XEV 9e gets a sloping roofline.

Mahindra is also offering a premium feature suite with the XEV 9e and BE 6e. These include a panoramic sunroof, a multi-zone AC, a wireless phone charger, a 1400-watt 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and ventilated and powered front seat. These EVs also feature an augmented reality (AR) based heads-up display.

Mahindra has launched the XEV 9e in India, priced at Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. The XEV 9e will be available in three variants—Pack 1, Pack 2, and Pack 3, with the Rs 21.90 lakh price for the Pack 1 variant.

The XEV 9e features a coupe roofline, while the SUV characteristics are enhanced by gloss black cladding and a high ground clearance. Mahindra has provided it with flush-type door handles with NFC support for locking and unlocking the doors.

Emkay Global said it is impressed by the strong specifications and competitive pricing for the two models, with the introductory prices 6 per cent and 22 per cent, respectively, below those of current top-selling models.
