The much-anticipated schedule for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy could be finalized during 5 December’s International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting, according to reports. All eyes will be on what model is accepted by the ICC as both PCB and BCCI are not ready on a single model.

Just hours after PCB accepted BCCI and ICC's demand, Akhtar also claimed the hybrid model for the Champions Trophy was already agreed upon. India are scheduled to host multiple ICC events in the next decade, including the Women's ODI World Cup 2025 and the T20 World Cup in 2026 jointly with Sri Lanka. The 2029 Champions Trophy and 2031 ODI World Cup are also scheduled to be held in India.

PCB have shown willingness to accept the proposal, in a recent ICC meeting, they have urged the governing body to follow the same model when the upcoming ICC events will be held in India. India is set to host the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup, and 2026 T20 World Cup (along with Sri Lanka).
