Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis are recalling EVs again for power loss while driving. Affected vehicles include the Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6 GV60, GV70 Electrified, G80 Electrified, and EV6.

Some Hyundai models may have faulty wiring that would allow the vehicle to roll away. Other Hyundai, Kia and Genesis cars may have damaged EV charging units.

This isn't the first time E-GMP vehicles have been recalled over their Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU).

Hyundai is recalling over 145,000 Ioniq and Genesis vehicles due to a 12-volt battery charging issue that could cause the EVs to lose drive power and increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says the cause is the vehicles' Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU),

Omission of 48-volt electronics is particularly surprising in Hyundai's E-GMP vehicles, which incorporate various other advancements like 800-volt charging. Hyundai has even introduced a solution that does away with the old-style lead-acid 12-volt battery in some of its hybrids —but not any of its EVs thus far.

Hyundai is recalling more than 145,000 of its electric vehicles because of a charging issue that could cause the cars to lose power while driving.

Hyundai Motor Group announced a major recall that impacts not only Hyundai’s electric vehicles but also EVs from their subsidiaries, Genesis and Kia. In total, over 200,000 vehicles are at risk of a defect that could increase the risk of a crash.
