Metro Police released new details today about an officer-involved shooting that led police on a two-day hunt for a suspect after he is said to have fired a revolver at police.

Police have identified Marcos Gomez, 33, as the officer involved in a Friday night shooting near the 1800 block of Las Vegas Boulevard, North. The suspect, Jaime Mendoza, 54, allegedly shot at officers after a vehicle pursuit,

The vehicle was located again near North Las Vegas Boulevard and Owens Avenue. The vehicle wrecked and the suspect ran. Arriving officers chased after the suspect. Police say the suspect fired at the officers, causing one officer to shoot. Officers immediately took cover and lost visual of the suspect.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said Sunday at Jaime Mendoza, 54, was located and taken into custody. Mendoza will be booked on several felony charges but police did not list the charges.
