Michail Antonio's football career is in jeopardy. The West Ham striker suffered a serious leg fracture in a car accident requiring surgery and a year-long recovery, raising concerns about his ability to return to professional soccer.

West Ham United star forward Michail Antonio is “conscious” and in “stable condition” after being involved in a traffic accident outside of London on Saturday afternoon, the English Premier League club said.

However, the club are considering offering Antonio a new contract depending on how he recovers from his current injuries, according to The Times. The Hammers will also have to pay his £90,000-a-week wages until the end of his existing contract as they do not have insurance to cover the situation.
