The Prince and Princess of Wales have responded to the sad news that teenage photographer Liz Hatton, who shared a tender hug with Kate last month, has died. In a personal, written message the royal couple said: "We are so sorry to hear that Liz Hatton has sadly passed away. It was an honour to have met such a brave and humble young woman.

Liz Hatton, 17, from Harrogate, North Yorkshire, died in the early hours of Wednesday morning, her mother Vicky Robayna announced on social media. On X, formerly Twitter, Ms Robayna said that Liz had "remained determined to the last" and was still making plans for her future on Tuesday.
