The bodies of two large Malinois-mix dogs belonging to slain hiker Susan Lane-Fournier appear to have been discovered in Oregon.

Investigators were searching for the two large Malinois-mix dogs in hopes of also discovering their missing owner, a slain Oregon woman found dead on Saturday

On Saturday, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 71-year-old Michel Fournier, who was charged with second-degree murder. Michel is reportedly the victim's husband.

Lane-Fournier’s body was later recovered, and her husband, 71-year-old Michel Fournier of Brightwood, has been arrested on allegations of second-degree murder. Court documents show Lane-Fournier had recently filed for divorce from her husband.

Deputies attempted to locate Lane-Fournier at her home on Nov. 22 after her employer reported her absence following her failure to show up for a shift.

The discovery was made after more than 800 search hours involving dozens of officers, K9s and volunteers scouring more than 100 miles of trail.

Susan “Phoenix” Lane-Fournier was found dead Friday, Nov. 29 near U.S. Route 26 and East Miller Road, just south of her Brightwood home, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. Brightwood is west of Mount Hood.

Fournier, 61, took a tragic turn after her body was found over the weekend in Welches, Oregon, an unincorporated community at the base of Mount Hood.
