Tampa police have arrested a man accused of intentionally driving his pickup truck into a financial building in Tampa Palms North. Robert Beaty, 70, of Tampa arrived at the guard gate demanding to speak with a USAA representative Tuesday afternoon, investigators said.

Just after 2 p.m. Tuesday, the Tampa Police Department responded to reports of a car that crashed into the USAA located off of Commerce Park Boulevard.

“The investigation revealed that Beaty arrived at the guard gate demanding to speak with a USAA representative. Guards refused entry to Beaty. In turn, Beaty put on a helmet, drove recklessly through the USAA parking garage, and damaged numerous fences inside the property.”

An adult man crashed his car into a USSA building in Hillsborough on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Tampa Police Department.

Robert Beaty, 70, was denied entry to the building when he arrived at around 2:12 p.m. and demanded to speak to a USAA representative.
