A man in Bean Station allegedly shot at a police officer on November 30; the officer allegedly returned fire, injuring the man, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reports.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said agents are looking a shooting that involved an officer from the Bean Station Police Department on Saturday.According to the TBI, preliminary information indicates the incident happened Saturday afternoon at a home in the 1800 block of County Line Road after an officer went there as part of an ongoing vehicle theft investigation.

When the officer arrived at the home, he approached a man who fled the scene, resulting in a brief foot chase where the man reportedly fired at the officer.
