(Jeff Wheeler/The Minnesota Star Tribune) Law enforcement from 300 agencies across Minnesota will be out in full force looking for impaired drivers as part of a campaign to encourage motorists to drive sober and keep the roads safe at a time when traffic fatalities are on the rise.

A DWI enforcement campaign will start on Wednesday and run through New Year's Eve in Minnesota. More than 300 local law enforcement agencies providing extra enforcement on weekends in order to limit DWI-related crashes across the state.

According to a news release issued Tuesday, more than 300 local law enforcement agencies will be providing extra enforcement of drunken driving laws beginning Nov. 27 and lasting through New Year's Eve.

Minnesota agencies are adding extra DWI enforcement on Minnesota roads this holiday season with the hopes of preventing traffic deaths and convincing people to drive sober or find another safe way home.
