Elden Ring's director, Hidetaka Miyazaki, has confirmed a sequel isn't in the works. However, can he finally bring a sequel to FromSoftware's best game?

Sorry, Elden Ring fans, it doesn't sound like we'll be returning to the Lands Between for a full-blown sequel any time soon, as director Hidetaka Miyazaki confirms that FromSoftware "isn't really considering" such developments right now.

Elden Ring director and FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki has said the developer is not currently considering making Elden Ring 2 but won't shut down the possibility in the future. Miyazaki said at the PlayStation Partner Awards 2024 Japan Asia,

The beast is us, and we're hungering for more Elden Ring. During the PlayStation Partner Awards in Japan, as reported by IGN Japan, director Hidetaka Miyazaki unsurprisingly found himself fielding questions about the possibility of more Elden Ring—though we already knew Shadow of the Erdtree would be its only expansion.

Hidetaka Miyazaki isn't cutting off the development of the Elden Ring brand, but for now the FromSoftware studio is betting on multiple projects and a variety of genres.
