A high-speed police chase that began in Virginia ended in Maryland before sunrise Tuesday with a car crash that left two youths linked to a suspected robbery hospitalized in critical condition, authorities said.

LA PLATA, Md. - Investigators are on the scene of a deadly crash involving a police vehicle in Charles County. The collision happened near Route 301 and Port Tobacco Road in La Plata. According to a post on X, Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown said the state's Independent Investigations Division (IID) is on the scene.

An early morning police pursuit of armed robbery suspects in Virginia crossed state lines and ended in a crash in Maryland, leaving multiple people injured, authorities said. At approximately 3:46 a.m.
