Georgia's president said Monday that mass pro-EU protests involving tens of thousands of people showed no sign of stopping after police fired water cannon and tear gas on a fourth night of demonstrations.

Mass protests in the capital are continuing to erupt for a third consecutive night on Saturday in the capital Tbilisi. Riot police have been deployed around the country's parliament, the focal point of three nights of protests.

Georgia's pro-Western President Salome Zurabishvili told AFP in an exclusive interview on Saturday that she will not step down until last month's contested parliamentary elections are re-run.
