President-elect Donald Trump said Tuesday he has selected a Stanford University professor of health policy and skeptic of COVID-19 precautions to run the National Institutes of Health, the sweeping federal agency tasked with solving many of the country’s biggest health challenges.

Dr. Jay Bhattacharya Bhattacharya is a physician and professor at Stanford University School of Medicine, and is a critic of pandemic lockdowns and vaccine mandates.

Bhattacharya's nomination, alongside Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Mehmet Oz, indicates potential shifts in vaccine policy under the Trump administration.
