Georgia detained 107 people in the capital city of Tbilisi overnight during a protest against the government's decision to halt European Union accession talks, the country's interior ministry reported on Saturday.

Georgia’s interior ministry has said that 107 people were arrested during Friday’s protests in the capital Tbilisi sparked by the government’s decision to delay the former Soviet country’s bid to join the European Union.

Georgians unhappy with delaying the country's EU membership talks have flooded Tbilisi's streets for the third night in a row. Clashes with the police erupted outside parliament, in an effort to disperse the protesters.
