Leah Seneng, 60, died after being bitten by a rabid bat inside her classroom at Bryant Middle School in Dos Palos in Merced County, according to published reports.

The teacher was reportedly trying to scoop the bat up to get it out of her classroom when it woke up and bit her.

Hailing from Belgharia in Kolkata, 22-year-old Sayan Ghosh had traveled to Bangladesh on November 23. He stayed with a friend’s family.
