Moana 2 has beaten both Wicked and Gladiator II at the box office over the five-day Thanksgiving weekend. Per Deadline, Moana 2 made $135.5 million during its opening weekend; although, the movie technically opened on Wednesday and therefore made $221 million during its five-day opening Thanksgiving weekend.

The stock market isn’t the only thing enjoying new records - so is the box office. This Thanksgiving weekend was the biggest ever for Hollywood in terms of domestic ticket sales

The three movies brought in a combined $420 million to the box office during Thanksgiving weekend — surpassing the previous record of $315.6 million from 2018, when “Creed II,” “Ralph Breaks the Internet” and “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” were all in theaters.
