New York declares a state of emergency due to an intense snowstorm affecting several regions in the northeast of the USA
The governor of Pennsylvania has signed a disaster emergency declaration and reported that parts of Erie County in the northwest have received nearly a meter of snow, with more expected to fall until Monday night.
Snowstorm triggers state of emergency for parts of New York
Near Buffalo, between 10 and 20 inches of lake effect snow is expected by the end of Sunday, according to the Weather Service. The southern part of Erie County, along with Wyoming, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties, are predicted to see 2 to 4 feet of snow by Monday night.
