The Arizona Cardinals entered Week 13 tied with the Seattle Seahawks at 6-5 atop the NFC West, although Seattle held a head-to-head tiebreaker to be the leader. After games in Week 13, the Cardinals lost ground. They blew a 13-point second-half lead on Sunday, falling 23-22 to the Minnesota Vikings, falling to 6-6.

Minnesota rallied from 13 points down to beat Arizona 23-22, moving the Cardinals out of a tie with the Seahawks for the NFC West lead.

Arizona relied on the quick passing game against a Vikings defense that leads the league in blitz rate and pressure rate. Murray targeted tight ends and running backs on nearly half of his pass attempts and completed all 12 passes to Trey McBride. After being sacked a season-high five times last week, he was not sacked on Sunday.

The Seahawks have now won two consecutive NFC west matchups after defeating the Cardinals and 49ers in back to back weeks, surging to the top of the division after holding two potentially potent offenses to a combined 23 points after previously losing their last five-of-six games.

Sam Darnold’s second touchdown pass of the second half went to Aaron Jones for the Minnesota Vikings’ first lead with 1:13 left.
