The judge who presided over the California tax fraud case against Hunter Biden called out the president for mischaracterizing and minimizing the charges against his son in the statement where he announced he was pardoning him.

U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi issued a five-page order on Tuesday, condemning the president's rationale for the full pardon for the tax and gun charges Hunter Biden was set to be sentenced over for this month.

The president-elect is trying to have his hush-money case thrown out in light of Hunter's clemency. But Trump's historic conviction still matters, even if he never faces the consequences.
