By Sam Tobin LONDON (Reuters) -Fulham captain Tom Cairney came off the bench to rescue a point before being sent off in a 1-1 draw at Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday, after Brennan Johnson's volley gave the hosts the lead.

Tottenham lost more ground in the Premier League after they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Fulham. After an even first half, Spurs went ahead against the run of play at the start of the second period when Brennan Johnson volleyed in for his 10th goal of the season.

Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney has spoken about his display in a recent Premier League game. The Cottagers’ veteran had a mixed outing against Tottenham in a 1-1 draw at the weekend. Cairney scored for his team, but was also sent off for a rash challenge in a 20-minute cameo.
